An addiction to drugs or alcohol is something that no person ever asks for or wants. Instead, it’s a serious disease that can have life altering and life ending impacts on any person. It would be seemingly impossible for you to find a person that would tell you that they would have taken their first drink or consumed their first drug if it meant that it would lead to an issue with addiction. However, every day, countless Indianapolis residents find themselves in a position of struggling with this condition and unsure of where to look for when they are ready to receive help.
The Source Treatment Center team is here to provide you with the guidance and support that you need to tackle your addiction. We take the opportunity to learn from every client that reaches out to our facility for help so that we can assist them in putting together a recovery program that will help them to live a healthier life.
Something that we always caution our clients about when they initially reach out to us is keeping an open mind and heart to the different things that they will learn throughout the course of their recovery journey. It’s important to remember that addiction is a type of disease that can make you sick not only physically but psychologically as well. As a result, you may not think clearly not only during the time that you were in active addiction but also in the following days and months. During the time that you work with our recovery specialists, you will have the chance not only to learn more about your disease but also more about yourself so that you can heal holistically.
There are many times when addiction is so severe that the only way for you to truly make the most out of your time in treatment is to first go through the detox process. It’s possible that within just a few hours of the time that you last consume your substance of choice, you may begin to experience physical or psychological symptoms which are also known as withdrawal symptoms. Examples of withdrawal symptoms can include nausea, cravings, shakiness or seizures. During the time that you are going through the detox process, you should never be alone which is why you should always reach out to us as soon as possible so that we can help you put together a plan that will get you the urgent care that you need in the Indianapolis area.
What Do You Do During Rehab?
The premise of a drug or alcohol rehab in Indianapolis is to provide you with a safe and protected type of environment that will give you the care and support that you need to address and tackle the issues that you have with addiction. One of the common questions that we receive from clients that are thinking about coming to our Fort Lauderdale facility is what they will experience when they come to our treatment center and what they will do throughout the day.
The answer to this question cannot take a one size fits all approach. Instead, your experience in drug rehab will be dependent on the type of treatment that you choose. Regardless of the recovery program, you can expect to participate in a multitude of therapies that will help you to conquer your addiction and learn the tools and resources that you need to live a healthier and sober life. Remember, when you reach out to our intake team, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions or raise any concerns that you may have regarding your recovery plan. Also, our team will be continuously checking in with you to ensure that you have everything that you need to successfully complete your treatment program.
What Does the Average Day Look Like While in Rehab?
Keep in mind that your treatment and recovery plan will be personalized to your goals as well as the addiction and conditions that you may be struggling with. While it’s true that every client that comes to The Source will take part in therapy and other sober focused activities during the time that they are under our care, your experience will be greatly dependent on the treatment program that you select.
At The Source, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to receive addiction care. This is why we make the commitment to work with any client that may be suffering from the following conditions:
-
Alcoholism
There is a distinct difference between having an occasional drink to making time to drink every day. Your time at our treatment center will revolve around managing how you feel when confronted with the very real temptation of alcohol during your everyday life. Since it’s something that is so readily available, part of what you will learn during your time at The Source will help you to avoid relapse and keep your mind focused on your long term recovery goals.
-
Drug Addiction
There are several different types of drugs that may trigger an addiction. Unfortunately, there are many people that fall into the trap of addiction initially through no fault of their own. For example, there are several types of prescription medications that have addictive qualities that are meant to be prescribed to a client for a limited period of time. However, when consumption isn’t closely monitored or when a patient begins to lie about their consumption, their addiction can slowly but surely spiral out of control. When you come to our treatment center, we will help you to examine the events of your life that may have triggered your addiction.
-
Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Did you know that, oftentimes, mental health issues and addiction can go hand in hand? In fact, it’s possible that a mental health issue may trigger your addiction. For instance, a person may not recognize that they are struggling with a mental health issue and they look for a way to cope with or manage how they are feeling. For one reason or another, that person turns to drugs or alcohol and, over time, the consumption continues to grow which further exacerbates their mental health issues as it opens the door for addiction issues.
-
Trauma-related Disorders
At The Source, we believe that the root cause of addiction is typically embedded in experiencing some form of trauma. There are times where clients may not be able to actively identify the root cause of their trauma while there are others that can point to it directly. Regardless of whether you can trace your traumatic experiences or not, you will feel the care and support that our team will provide you so that you can work through your addiction.

Inpatient Alcohol & Drug Rehab
There are numerous people in the Indianapolis area that simply don’t live in an environment that supports sobriety. For instance, if you live with people who are suffering from their own addiction or you live with family members that don’t understand the premise of addiction, you may find it difficult if not impossible to be able to maintain your own sobriety. Removing yourself from this type of situation for a period of time will not only help you to recover but it will also help you to learn what you need to do to keep your sobriety intact if you ever have to deal with this type of setting again.
Outpatient Alcohol & Drug Rehab
There is a misconception associated with addiction treatment when it comes to how you receive the type of recovery assistance, you will need to put every other aspect of your life on hold until your work through your condition. In today’s day and age, that is simply not possible for many people. For instance, if you are the sole provider of your family, it may be impossible for you to commit to a partial hospitalization program which is why we worked to develop this option so that you never feel as though you need to choose your sobriety or your personal or professional responsibilities.
Intensive Outpatient Alcohol & Drug Rehab
An intensive outpatient program for drugs or alcohol can be used as a step down program for a person that may have recently completed a partial hospitalization program or it can be used by a person that may have part time work or school responsibilities. You will take part in the same forms of therapy as both our outpatient and partial hospitalization clients, however, there is more flexibility that is associated with this type of treatment option. If you have a current work or school schedule, please let us know during the intake process so that we can account for these aspects of your life when formulating your treatment plan.
Partial Hospitalization Alcohol & Drug Rehab
In comparison to our outpatient program or our intensive outpatient program, our partial hospitalization program is the most structured recovery program that we offer. Clients that decide to commit to this type of program will spend a minimum of 25 hours per week in treatment. However, we will provide you with accommodations in one of our luxurious single family residences that are located within close proximity to the beautiful Fort Lauderdale beach.
The goal of our treatment team is to provide you with a home away from home type of environment so that you can heal from your addiction with the peace of mind of knowing that you are in a safe and protected environment during a time where you may be feeling particularly vulnerable. You will have everything you need during this stretch of time from a comfortable bed to sleep in to access to our treatment team around the clock.
Brain-Mapping or Neurofeedback Treatment for Addiction
It’s possible that brain waves could be playing a factor in your issues with addiction. Through brain-mapping or neurofeedback treatment, we will be able to identify the problematic areas in your brain and take steps to address them and correct them. While this form of treatment can be incredibly helpful in your overall treatment, it’s critical to remember that this type of treatment should always be paired with talk therapy and other recovery efforts as brain-mapping or neurofeedback treatment alone will not prevent you from falling back into the trap of addiction.
If you or a loved one are struggling with addiction, call The Source today. Our treatment specialists are available 24/7 to discuss your options and help you find the perfect solution (800) 204-0418.
Benefits of Family Therapy
Unfortunately, addiction is the type of disease that not only has an impact on the person that is suffering from this condition but also on every loved one that truly cares for their loved one. Once you have become accustomed to your new treatment plan, we can begin to introduce family therapy into the mix of your recovery. Having you and your loved ones participate in family therapy can help all of you to heal from the negative impact that addiction has had on all of your lives. Family therapy will take part in a neutral environment so that you can begin to piece the pieces of these important connections in your life back together.
One on One Therapy
One on one therapy also plays a key role in your long term recovery plan. The reason for this is because individual therapy will give you the chance to heal from events in your life that may have caused you trauma but you don’t feel comfortable talking about in a group setting. You will have the opportunity to speak to one of our addiction therapists on a one on one basis which can be a great source of comfort for many people who are new to the concept of recovery.
Another reason why we encourage our clients to actively participate in this type of treatment is because it will allow us to check in with you on a regular basis to see how you are progressing throughout your treatment plan. For example, maybe you find yourself struggling through a particular form of therapy or perhaps you have questions regarding how you are feeling while you are at a certain stage in your treatment. Maybe you simply need to just talk to someone because you’re having a bad day. Regardless of what category you fall into, you can rest assured that our treatment team will always be there for you and to listen to you.
Types of Therapy Based Addiction Treatment Therapy for Residents of Indianapolis
At The Source, we pride ourselves on giving our clients a multitude of options when it comes to addressing their recovery. From cutting edge trauma-based therapy to more traditional forms of therapy such as individual therapy and group therapy, we will provide you with all of the tools that you need to work through the contributing factors in your addiction.
It’s important to remember that you will be paired with certain trauma-based therapies at our Fort Lauderdale facility based on different factors. While one type of trauma-based therapy may work well for one person, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be the best option for you. Keep in mind that if you begin trauma-therapy and you feel as though you aren’t benefiting from it, we encourage you to communicate that with us so that we can adjust your treatment program and find a form of therapy that best suits your needs.
Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR) Therapy
Traumatic incident reduction therapy is a form of counseling that takes place in a one on one setting. Each session will take place approximately once a week and take anywhere between 60 and 90 minutes. The number of sessions that you may need will be dependent on your situation as well as the goals that you have for yourself.
If you or a loved one are struggling with addiction, call The Source today. Our treatment specialists are available 24/7 to discuss your options and help you find the perfect solution (800) 204-0418.
Rapid Resolution Therapy (RPT) Treatment
Rapid resolution therapy treatment focuses on breaking the cycle of negative thoughts that may filter through your brain when you’re working through the different factors associated with your recovery. When you’re lost in active addiction, it’s possible that these negative thoughts and reactions will fester and stay with you. Our addiction therapists will help you to understand and identify this thought process and ultimately correct it.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
Many times, a person may struggle with certain traumatic events in their life and block them out as a way to cope with them. Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, also referred to as EMDR therapy, can help a client to recall these painful memories in such a way that is not as traumatic and in a quicker way. This type of therapy has shown to be particularly helpful for a person that is suffering from anxiety or panic disorders.
Sober Friendly Attraction Near Indianapolis
Returning back home to Indianapolis after your time at our Fort Lauderdale facility should be an exciting time. You will now be in a better position to be able to focus on the steps that you need to take to maintain your sobriety. However, in order to reinforce the important lessons that you learned during your time in treatment, we strongly recommend that you take advantage of our Alumni Program. Our Alumni Program can help you to continue to develop and grow your system of support. Every month, you will have the opportunity to participate in extended group therapy sessions as well as take part in different sober friendly events that we host throughout the year. Our Alumni Program is a wonderful way for you not only to remain in touch with our treatment team but also other clients that have successfully completed their own respective treatment programs.
Something else that we always encourage our clients to do when they return back home is to attend as many 12-step meetings as they can. You will quickly see that a 12-step meeting is similar to a group therapy session in many ways. First and foremost, you will be surrounded by a group of people who may have had similar experiences as you when it comes to their struggles with addiction.
