When you are in the throes of addiction, you may feel as though you are consistently falling into a hole that never seems to end. People or things that you once used to love start to become unimportant to you. Instead, your life revolves around the next time that you can have your next drink or drug of choice. You will soon notice that people or co-workers will begin to distance themselves from you as your addiction continues to get worse which will leave you feeling more alone than ever, in turn, feeding your addiction.

If you or a loved one are struggling with addiction, call The Source today.  Our treatment specialists are available 24/7 to discuss your options and help you find the perfect solution (800) 204-0418.

At The Source Treatment Center, we understand the stress and the strain that often goes hand in hand with addiction. We work with you to develop a personalized treatment program that will help you to overcome your addiction and go on to thrive.

What Does Alcohol Rehab Consist Of?

The crux of your time in an alcohol treatment program will consist of participation in different forms of therapies. For example, if you decide to work through our inpatient program, not only will you have the benefit of living in one of our beautiful single-family residential accommodations but you will also have the comfort of knowing that you are receiving the around the clock care that you need during this important transition in your life. Clients that decide to work through our inpatient program will take part in different forms of therapy for at least 25 hours per week.

We also work with a number of clients who realize that they have an issue with addiction but they simply do not have the personal or professional flexibility to be able to commit themselves to an inpatient program. These clients greatly benefit from our outpatient program. Clients who enroll in our general outpatient program will take part in at least three hours of group therapy with an additional hour of individual therapy.

You should always remember that your addiction did not develop overnight. This is one of the reasons why we never put a time limit on your recovery plan. In most cases, treatment programs will last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.

First, Alcohol Detox – Then Rehab

It’s imperative not to overlook the importance of first going through an alcohol detox program if you are still in active addiction when you first reach out to our team. The reason for this during the course of your developing addiction, your body and mind have become accustomed to receiving a certain amount of alcohol each day. When your mind begins to realize that it will no longer receive any alcohol, your body will begin to experience certain withdrawal symptoms.

It’s impossible to pinpoint exactly what withdrawal symptoms you will experience during detox. Many clients complain of feeling extremely nauseous while others will suffer from painful headaches, shakiness, or even an increase in anxiety. Due to the unpredictability of withdrawal symptoms, we never recommend that you attempt to go through this process unless you are under the care of a trained team of medical professionals that can help to take care of you when you are unable to.

The Source maintains relationships with numerous detox facilities all over the country. If you are in need of a detox program, we will immediately begin to take steps to set you up with a location that can help you. Once you finish your detox program, you can transition into your recovery program at The Source.

Getting to the Root of Alcohol Addiction

Before you can begin to fully heal from the ramifications of addiction, it’s important to first determine the source of your addiction. At the Miami addiction center, we believe that addiction is triggered by a traumatic event that took place in your life that you have yet to overcome. For example, a person that steps up to be a first responder or a soldier will certainly see their fair share of upsetting scenes. Unless you are able to process these events in a healthy way, you may feel as though you have no other place to turn than alcohol to help you try to process them. By numbing your emotions with alcohol, however, you are not giving yourself the opportunity to address how you are feeling which can ultimately result in a severe addiction.

We also work with a number of clients that may have gone through a disturbing event in their childhood. Simply because a person gets older does not mean that the pain associated with these events will dull by any stretch of the imagination. Our team will help you not only to identify these happenings but work with you to help it so that these memories are not as painful so that you can begin to put the pieces of your life back together after struggling with addiction.
